George was loving, giving, and full of energy. The two things he loved the most was his family and
his passion for detailing. He also loved other things like fishing, country dancing and like all of us to have fun.
George had a passion for detailing big rigs. It was something he was extremely good at even though
it was a dirty job he loved doing it. He made his own polish and aquired his own clientel by working the truckstops all day
long. He get out there early in the morning and at times wouldnt get home till after dark. We would tease him about leaving
as a white man and coming home as a black man as thats how dirty of a job it was. The majority of his clientel would only
let George do there trucks. Thats how good he was. My brother taught my how to detail and when ever I needed extra money
or was short on cash he tell me to come down to help him and he would gave me half of what he made...even though
I never did as much work as he did...lol.
George's tenderness comes out when he was around little kids...maybe because he was such a kid himself.
I know that when my daughter had he first x-mas he Really over did it and she had so many presents we had to make
2 truck loads just to get it all home...lol.
In April of 2003 George was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. He went through the radiation drill and
wanted him to do the kemo but Georges attitude was that he didnt want to do it if there was no garentee it would help. So
he did his radiation and lived life as he wanted and of couse he still did his detailing. He did what he loved the most till
he couldnt pick up his buffer anymore. He was very bullheaded and stubbarn when it came down to his last few months
as he wanted to get back out there and shine them trucks. He loved what he loved to do and wanted to do it till he couldnt
do no more!!!!

Me and the truck after I helped George Detail |
I wrote this little poem below for my big bro
Polishman
As he sits in the back row he'll key the mic and say " How bout it any drivers out there need there
tanks and rims polished to that mirror finish today with a high speed buffer...bring it on back to the Polishman"...........Trucks
roll in, the generator fires up, ready to do what he does best. At the end of the day a different man you will see, covered
from head to toe in rouge from polishing trucks all day. But when all is said and done, the driver pulls out and you will
see the work of The Polishman rolling down the highway!
I dedicate this page to my big bro We love and miss you very much
The Polishman you will always be!
